PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Panthers volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision to visiting Youngstown State tonight at Fitzgerald Field House.

Despite the loss, junior Carrie Norris posted her third-straight triple-double in the match. Norris recorded a career and match-high 25 kills to go along with 13 digs and 41 assists.

After taking a 33-31 win in game one, the Panthers fell, 30-28, in the second game. Pittsburgh rebounded with a 34-32 victory in the third game, but Youngstown State captured 30-21 and 17-15 decisions, respectively, in the final two games for the match victory.

Four other Panthers hit in double-figures, including Gini Ullery (Tracy, Calif./Tracy) who had 14 kills, and Wendy Hatlestad (Roseville, Minn./Roseville Area) and Abby Fechhelm (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah High) who each had 12 apiece. Hatlestad added a match-high 22 digs to her effort. Dionne Hayden (Mitchellville, Md./Elizabeth-Seton) and Lindsey Macke (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) both had double-doubles in the match. Hayden had 10 kills and 10 digs while Macke had 26 assists and 10 digs. Senior Heather Haff (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) had a match-high 10 blocks to go along with 11 digs.

Pittsburgh's record stands at 6-10 overall and 3-4 in the Big East. The Panthers return to action Friday, Oct. 19 when they host West Virginia.
