CINCINNATI--Senior Diana Andreyko recorded her 10th double-double of the season, as the women's volleyball team fell on the road in a 3-0 loss to Cincinnati, this afternoon. Pitt dropped the match with scores of 16-30, 23-30 and 26-30.

Andreyko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) led the Panthers (14-12, 7-5 Big East) with a double-double as she recorded 14 kills and 12 digs in the match. Junior Stephanie Ross (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne) added 11 kills in the match, while sophomore Michelle Rossi (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) chipped in a match-leading 16 digs.

Despite holding the Bearcats (16-9, 7-4 Big East) to a .059 hitting percentage in game two and forcing nine of their 21 attacks errors, Cincinnati outlasted Pitt with a .207 overall hitting clip, versus the Panthers' .155 attack percentage in the game.

Pitt posted 15 kills and a .205 hitting percentage in game one, but committed seven hitting errors. The squad was led by Andreyko and sophomore Meagan Dooley (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) with five kills each. In the game, freshman Emily Burke (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) tallied all 14 assists for the Panthers.

Later in the second game of the contest, Pitt jumped out to a 6-1 lead early. However the Bearcats fought back and tied the game at 13-13. Pitt then kept the game close and trailed 24-22 following a block by Ross and junior Jessica Moses (North Olmsted, Ohio/Lutheran West).

Cincinnati took a timeout after the Panthers' block and held Pitt to just one point as they took game two, 30-23.

In the final game of the match, there were five ties but only one lead change. Pitt opened the game with a 2-1 lead and kept it close through the final tie at 24-24 following a 9-4 run that began with a kill from Ross.

Cincinnati held just a one-point lead at 26-25, but back-to-back kills would give the Bearcats enough separation and the eventual win.

Andreyko recorded a team-high six kills and Dooley blocked two attacks in game three.

Pitt travels to further west to face Louisville on Sunday at 2 p.m.
