PITTSBURGH -- The University of Pittsburgh volleyball team is set to participate in three spring tournaments, including one at the Fitzgerald Field House, Saturday, April 15.
The Panthers begin play this weekend as they first travel to Indianapolis to compete in the Indy Collegiate Invitational Saturday, April 1. Pitt's second tournament will also be on the road as they head to Ohio for the Youngstown State Tournament Saturday, April 8. The Panthers will conclude spring competition on their own turf, hosting the Panther Invitational at the Fitzgerald Field House Saturday, April 15.
All tournaments will be open to the public.
The 10th Annual Indy Collegiate Invitational will take place at the Academy Volleyball Club in Indianapolis, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The tournament will feature nine teams including Indiana, Ball State, Indiana State, Ohio State, Southern Illinois, IUPUI, Purdue, Ohio University and Pitt.
The Panthers will play their first match of the tournament against Ohio University at 9:30 a.m. Pitt will then take on Indiana University at 10:30 a.m., before facing off against Ball State at 1 p.m. The Panthers will conclude play at the tournament with a matchup against Purdue at 2 p.m.
Pitt will continue spring competition at Youngstown State, with matches beginning at 10 a.m. and taking place in both the Beeghly Center and Stambaugh Stadium.
The Panthers, along with YSU, West Virginia, Duquesne, Akron, Robert Morris, Wheeling Jesuit are set to participate.
To round out spring competition, Pitt will host the Panther Spring Invitational April 15 at the Fitzgerald Field House. Competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. with games being two sets and played in hour time slots. The final match is set to be played beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Four teams will travel to Pittsburgh for the tournament including Youngstown State, Miami University (OH), Cleveland State and West Virginia.

Head coach Dan Fisher returns multiple pieces of the 2016 team that reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 12 years, including AVCA Division I Honorable Mention All-American Stephanie Williams and ACC Setter of the Year and AVCA All-Region selection Kamalani Akeo.
