VIENNA, Austria -
We started out off our day with a 4 1/2 hour ride from Prague to Vienna, Austria. Upon arrival we checked into our hotel and then headed to lunch. We ate a doner kabob at a Turkish restaurant as Austria has a rich Turkish history as well. After a delicious meal we did some sightseeing around the city and experienced the Austrian metro. It was nice to see such beautiful places like St. Stephan's Cathedral, the National Library and the houses of famous composers.
We were left with a few hours to do whatever we wanted around the city before dinner. We happened to go out on a Sunday, and unfortunately on Sundays most stores are closed and there aren't many places to go. Some of us ended up visiting Austrian chocolate stores, watching break dancers in the street, and stopping by internet cafes to send e-mails and make phone calls to our families.
Our day was drawn to a close with a traditional Austrian meal of various salads and schnitzel with potatoes. Check in with tomorrow's entry to hear about our journey to the beautiful town of Maribor, Slovenia.
