PITTSBURGH-Pitt's women's volleyball team continues Big East play against South Florida and Georgetown, in Fitzgerald Field House. The Panthers host Field House Frenzy against the Bulls on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m., then face the Hoyas at 2 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 5.

Pitt (9-7, 2-0 Big East) is enjoying a six-match win streak, after recorded victories over Villanova (3-2) and Seton Hall (3-2) in its conference debut last weekend.

Senior Kelly Campbell (Mansfield, Ohio/Mansfield-Pacific) enters the weekend as a conference honor roll selection after she outdid her previous season-high of 20 kills, with 21 against the Wildcats. She also matched a career-high with five total blocks against the Pirates the next day.

Senior Nicole Taurence (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) and sophmore Amy Town (Orillia, Ontario/Orillia) both recorded double-doubles against Seton Hall. Taurence tallied 34 assists and 12 digs, while Town posted 11 kills and 10 digs in the match.

South Florida (10-6, 1-1 Big East) is comng off a 3-1 win over DePaul. Marcela Gurgel posted 20 kills, 16 digs and four aces in the victory. Pitt holds a 2-1 lead in the series against South Florida.

In its last match, Georgetown (8-7, 1-1 Big East) fell to Notre Dame. Jessica Hardy led the team wth nine kills, as the Hoyas ended a five-match win streak. Pitt holds a 35-7 series lead over Georgetown, including wins in two of the last three matches.
