PITTSBURGH—Pitt’s women’s volleyball team closes out its regular-season slate on the road, this weekend, with a pair of Big East matches against Syracuse and Marquette. The Panthers play the Orange on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., and then face the Golden Eagles on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m.

Pitt (15-12, 7-5 Big East) is looking to improve upon it potential seed in the Big East Championship, that will be hosted at Fitzgerald Field House from Friday, Nov. 21, through Sunday, Nov. 23.

Junior Meagan Dooley (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) tied the third-place all-time career record for solo blocks against Louisville. Dooley has 88 career solo blocks, and 21 on the season. She is just four solo stuffs shy of tying the all-time record for second place.

Additionally, junior Michelle Rossi (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Francisca) moved into the second-best slot on the all-time career digs list, last week. Rossi boasts a career record of 1,493 digs with 441 on the season.

Syracuse (15-14, 6-6 Big East) enters the weekend, coming off a pair of conference-road losses, as they were shutout by Seton Hall (3-0) and Villanova (3-0). Sarah Morton recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 10 total blocks to lead the charge against the Wildcats. She also leads the Orange in kills (313) and blocks (142) on the season. Pitt holds a 28-7 lead in the series against Syracuse.

Marquette (10-15, 4-8 Big East) split its weekend with five-set matches against Villanova (3-2) and Seton Hall (3-2). Caryn Mastandrea earned a triple-double against the Pirates with 11 kills, 48 assists and 16 digs. On the year, Ashlee Fisher leads the Golden Eagles in kills (340). The Panthers hold a 4-1 lead in the series.
