Fisher on Bell:  "Mariah's strengths right now are her ball control and defense. We're looking for her to come in and be a ready to go passer right away. We think she'll help us in the back row so we're excited about her."

Bell on the decision to become a Panther: "When I walked on to the Pitt campus, it instantly felt right.  I was comfortable around the coaches and felt an immediate connection with them.  The whole team made me feel at home.  I have always wanted to attend college in the East so I could experience four seasons and a different atmosphere than where I grew up.  The University of Pittsburgh is where I am going to have 4 years of competitive volleyball and graduate with a valuable degree!"

Kelsey O'Neill

Skokie, Ill./Loyola Academy

O'Neill is  6'2'' middle hitter from Skokie, Ill... Four-year starter at Loyola Academy...led team to a 27-9 record as a All-GCAC Conference selection...selected for USA Volleyball Indoor High Performance rosters on multiple occasions including the 2012 US Girls' Youth National Volleyball Training Team, the 2012 Girls' youth National A2 Team, the 2012 Girls' youth Holiday Camp and the 2013 Girls' Youth A1 Team...a four-year Loyola Scholar who ranks in the top 5% of her class... competed on the club level for Wildcat Juniors Volleyball Club (2010-present), Energy Volleyball Club (2009) and Fairview South.

Fisher on O'Neill:  "Kelsey is a player that we are really excited about. She turned down some pretty prestigious schools academically and athletically to come here. She is what we feel is a late bloomer and she's about 6'1'' with long arms and is a good jumper. She is similar physically to Jenna Potts and we think that she will develop into a really nice player. He strengths right now are hitting the ball off of one foot so we're excited to get her in the gym and see how she develops because her upside is really big."

O'Neill on the decision to become a Panther: "I chose Pitt to play at a high level of volleyball in the ACC and get a great education.  My major will focus on pre-med classes and I'm excited that UPMC is on campus.  After meeting the coaches, I look forward to being a part of their team.  I couldn't ask for a better fit."
