PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh women's volleyball team (17-14, 9-9 ACC) will wrap up its 2013 regular season with trips to Virginia (17-13, 10-8 ACC) and Virginia Tech (21-11, 9-9 ACC) on Friday, Nov. 29, and Saturday, Nov. 30.
The Panthers are coming off a pair of victories last weekend over Maryland and North Carolina State. Overall, Pitt has won five of its last six matches, including four straight.
For the season, the Panthers have been led on offense by Jessica Wynn with 376 kills. Kate Yeazel and Mechael Guess are second and third on the squad in kills with 308 and 239 respectively. On the defensive front, Delaney Clesen paces the team with 491 digs, while Jenna Potts has 131 blocks.
For the Cavaliers, Tori Janowski leads the way with 442 kills while Emily Rotman leads the defense with 496 digs.
Virginia Tech is led by Samantha Gostling who has 320 kills and Megan Beckwith with 469 digs.
This will mark the eighth meeting between Pitt and Virginia with the Panthers holding a 5-2 lead despite dropping a five set match earlier this season. The Panthers and Hokies have met six times with Pitt holding a 4-2 lead including a sweep at Fitzgerald Field House earlier this year.
