Greensboro, N.C. –University of Pittsburgh junior volleyball player Jessica Wynn has been named an All-ACC honoree, the conference announced today.
“I’m really excited to receive this award,” said Wynn. “This was only possible by having such an amazing coaching staff and awesome teammates. This honor makes me even more pumped for the next season.”
Wynn was named to the Third Team after a solid junior campaign where she tallied a team-best 410 kills on an impressive .254 hitting percentage. Additionally, Wynn registered 220 digs, 71 blocks and 12 service aces while competing in all 33 matches and 130 sets played by the Panthers in their 2013 campaign.
“This is a nice honor for Jess and for our program,” said Pitt head coach Dan Fisher. “She was our most consistent attacker all season and played a major part of our team’s success. This award is well deserved.”
Pitt wrapped up its 2013 season with a 19-14 record, including an 11-9 mark in ACC play. The Panthers ended their inaugural ACC season on a six match winning streak and ranked fifth in the Conference standings after being picked to finish 13th in the preseason polls.
