Shirah Wasik joined the University of Pittsburgh athletic department in December 2024 as an Assistant Director of Event Management & Camps. Prior to joining Pitt Athletics, Wasik interned for the Pittsburgh Steelers in stadium events. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management and a minor in business. In college Wasik worked for UConn Football as an equipment manager for three years and in event operations, working for championship basketball programs.
A Pittsburgh native, Wasik resides in Mt. Lebanon.

What do you love most about working in athletics?
I love that there is something new every day. There are a bunch of moving parts, and it is rewarding to see all your hard work pay off.

What is your favorite thing to do in the city of Pittsburgh
I love to walk around downtown and go to all the different sporting events.
