Todd Shell joined the University of Pittsburgh athletic department in December of 2021 as Assistant Athletic Director for Premium Sales & Development. Currently overseeing all ticket sales and service for Pitt’s ticketed sports. Shell also oversees the Wheels of Support Program and all premium seating initiatives.
Before his time at Pitt, Shell spent 3 years at Purdue University as the Senior Manager of Sales and Development. Overseeing a 9 person sales and development team responsible for the sales and service of all of Purdue’s ticketed sports. Over that time Purdue experienced an 89% growth in total football revenue and a 35% growth in Men’s Basketball revenue.
Prior to Purdue Shell spent 3.5 years as Manager of Sales and Service at the Colorado State University (CSU). He oversaw the sales and service team who generated over $800,000 in new donation revenue and broke every football sales record for total revenue, total new revenue, total new season tickets, total season ticket holders and attendance per game during the inaugural season for Canvas Stadium.
Shell previously held a Senior Consultant role for New Business & Development at the University of Kansas. He was promoted into this role after serving as Senior Sales & Service Consultant at the University of Memphis.
Shell attended and graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management (’12).

Favorite sports moment at Pitt?
The pick 6 against WVU in the opener of the 22’ season. I have been to a lot of sporting events in my life but the atmosphere in Acrisure for that play was something I won’t forget!
What is your favorite aspect of working in Pitt’s athletic department?
The people I get to work with day to day. The culture here is unique and makes coming to work fun/
